The UCF Arboretum is hosting our annual Fall Fest event from October 5th to 9th. Join us for fun, environmentally-focused activities, like pollinator tours, a campus cleanup, a Swap Shop clothing exchange, and a tabling stamp rally! Love Your Mother – Monday, October 5th from 4:30-6:30pm: Student Union Cypress Dome and Natural Lands cleanup with our Stormwater and Natural Resources teams. Catering will be provided, and there will be a scavenger hunt for a prize!
Environmental Education – Tuesday, October 6th from 2:00-5:00pm: UCF student groups and professional organizations such as the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, St. Johns River Water Management District, Florida Forest Service, and City of Orlando’s Sustainability Department, will be tabling in the Arboretum Park. Students who receive stamps from tables will receive a newly designed Arboretum shirt!
Pollinator Day – Wednesday, October 7th from 3:30-5:50pm: UCF student groups and professional organizations will be tabling in the Arboretum Park. Our Public Garden Management and Urban Agriculture teams will be leading pollinator tours. We will have a new pollinator personality quiz for students, with new stickers available to collect! Additionally, students will be able to stay after dark to see the bats emerge!
Health and Wellness – Thursday, October 8th from 3:00-5:00pm: With the SG Sustainability and Innovation Coordinator, we will be hosting yoga in the Arboretum Park with RWC trainers. We encourage people to bring their dogs, meet one of the UCF Police Therapy dogs, as well as participte in a coloring station! Students will also be able to enter into a raffle, and 2 people will win a wellness-themed gift basket!
Sustainable Consumption – Friday, October 9th from 10:00-2:00pm: We will be hosting a Swap Shop clothing exchange where students can drop off and take clothes for free! Additionally, our Plant Production team will be hosting a plant sale, and students can bring e-waste to recycle! For this event, please start gathering your clothes and e-waste items to bring! For clothes, we will have the donation boxes out starting September 25th, and one will be located in the office!
