How Old is That Tree? A Dendrochronology Workshop, 1:30pm to 2:30pm
Ever wondered how old a giant tree is? Join our Urban Forestry Team and learn how to age a tree using a coring process. Our team will lead you around the park and use a special tree coring tool in various tree species to extract a small core. You will be able to count the rings on the core and get the exact age of the trees. Guesses before the coring process are welcome! Those closest to the age will get a special prize!
