John Guziejka is the Leadership and Program Facilitator at the UCF Arboretum. He graduated from UCF in the Fall of 2013 with a B.S. in Environmental Studies and now is a first year graduate student in the Urban and Regional Planning Program. He acquired his interest in the environmental field early in his college career through association with environmental organizations such as I.D.E.A.S.  This led him to pursue environmental studies/ sciences as his focus of study at UCF where he became proficient in many topics such as ecosystem preservation, renewable energy, urban ecology/ development, resource conservation and sustainable living practices. John has worked with various environmental organizations such as The Southern Energy Network, The Energy Action Coalition, Intellectual Decisions For Environmental Awareness Solutions and the Student Sustainability Association in furthering environmental awareness and conservation. At the UCF Arboretum John will lead volunteer groups and organizations in improving the natural lands while educating them on ecosystem functions, healthy eating, animal and plant species native to the UCF ecosystem, and engaging community involvement in the garden. John believes the Arboretum is a wonderful place for him to express his interest in the environmental and sustainable realm for his future endeavors in conservation biology and urban planning.
