People » Janine Burnett

Janine Burnett, a senior biology student at UCF, is originally from Brooklyn, New York. She learned about plants from her father when she moved to Florida in 2001, which led to her fascination in biology. She continued to explore the field through her studies and received her associate’s degree in biology at Daytona State College. She transferred to UCF in spring of 2012 and believes that the UCF Arboretum is a great way to explore her interest in medicine. She is mainly interested in the medicinal plants at the Arboretum and wants to help promote healthy living at UCF. She is a work study student currently working to engage volunteers in the garden and helps to manage the Adopt-A-Plot program.
